Can you still con people in Eve, for example sell +1 implants as if they were +5 and rip people off of isk that way? Can you still commit corp theft, robbing billions of isk from the corps you join? Can you still suicide gank people in high sec? Can you still steal from ore cans in high sec? Now the most important thing, besides Alliance related BS in 0.0, what major things are there to do in Eve? The Dust thing is interesting me as a PS3 owner and besides the Dev corruption, Eve is an excellent game, when you don't feel like you are playng a spread sheet or role playing a zergling... So I want to know did they neuter Eve and did they just focus all of their development on pleasing a bunch of alliance metagamers?

I second the questions above. If you can't join them, scam them.

You sound like someone I want in my StarQuest Online pirate faction. We are ruthless but still want people to have fun when we attack.
There was a story a few months back about a multi billion Isk scam that someone pulled. Devs basically said "Don't be stupid." "I am not in a server with Gankers...THEY ARE IN A SERVER WITH ME!!!" |
Originally posted by TruthXHurts I have heard very little about this MMORPG, might have to look into it. I like the playstyle I described in my post, it's the best part of Eve when I played....

Yes to the first four questions. A recent heist saw a russian director claim 900 Billion in assests/liquid, which is the most in eve history afaik. Events then spiralled into a huge Russian civil war and now the formely rock stable drone regions are witnessing one of the most massive war campaigns in recent history. Most of null is burning at the moment. I don't understand the second question. In Crucible a huge number of quality changes was introduced, but they benefit everyone playing. Aside from an anomaly buff which was much needed, there wasn't much to cater to the big alliances. So I guess the answer is no. |

Originally posted by PyscoJuggalo Yes, but people have gotten lazy and simply spam scam contracts in local markets, for every 9 people that pay attention there is always 1 lemming. Yes, but corps with a lot of assets have made them less avaliable and probably vet new guys a little harder, but if you put in the time and effort it can still be done. Yes, but they nerfed the insurance, tbh if you ganked someone and get shot up by the cops for it there really isnt any reason for an insurance company to back your claim. Yes, and people still do it for the lulz more than anything else. I think CCP is trying to make the game more playable for smaller entities, I heard there is a faction warfare/lowsec revamp coming next patch. BTW sometimes zerging the shit out of people who deserve it is fun. Dunno, but it looks like CCP does want more of its highsec players to try to move into low and nullsec, it you look at the trailers they release like "EVE is real" they probably consider the 0.0 alliance warfare to be the meat of their game. |

I love the fact that people rob eachother in games, it's brilliant, and should be allowed in every game, if nothing else, it'll teach people a thing or two about trusting people in real life. On the telly there is all these shows of families paying thousands of dollars to get their house fixed, made better, bigger or something other, then the contractor takes their money, leave the project, and demand more money to continue, lol. (The shows are about helping those families get the stuff done without extra cost.) People are so naive.
Think of it this way, even if you steal things or money from others, what is gonna happen, who is gonna remember it when you're gone? no one... No one gives a damn. So why not just take whatever you want, and enjoy it.
Okay, enough of the life lessons, yes, EvE is still brutal. I take what I want, when I want it. |

Originally posted by Calfis As you can tell from my playstyle I am a people person, who loves molesting people online basically. That whole "Let's join together and build an empire" crap does not appeal to me. Yeah I will probably still reactivate an account to check it out... from the sound of it, they did not get rid of the BEST parts of Eve.

Originally posted by PyscoJuggalo I actually have a RL friend just like you who I convinced to try the 60 day so he can molest other people. Its a perfectly viable way to play the game. God knows there are plenty of sheep in the fields. About the get together and build an empire bit, its not really that. Most of the grunts in big alliances have a FPS mentality, its more like lets get together and be "leet" or "hardcore" and the constant smack talking and arrogance in local chat usually reflects that attitude. Basically "we are awesome" and "these guys are shit" but I believe this is an integral part of the gameplay experience, for null anyway. |
