NIDA Online, which combines sci-fi and fantasy elements in a 3D MMORPG, is set in a land under religious upheaval. Three groups - Knights, Mages, and Summoners (who also serve as the game's three basic classes) fought for a long time over their differences, brought about through such beliefs as thinking one group spiritually superior over others. When all three group leaders were slain, there was an uneasy peace accord after devastating losses on all three sides. Then the Artificers, an outside group, crash landed and revealed themselves to be key to the future of the land Nida.
The game's standout features include a card system for obtaining bonus items, player shops, fishing, and PvP. PvP modes are duels and PKing (with associated negative points/status afterward). NIDA tries to balance this out by providing SP, or "support points" for leveled but underpowered characters in PvP combat. And for players who wish to absolve themselves of their negative PKer score, there is a quest that allows it. In fact, NIDA also offers several quest types in the game to suit each player. Some quests are limited by race, others can only be performed by a party, and still others are special and result in equipment bonuses and rarities.
System requirements are rather low, and the game will run on older computers. NIDA is free and cash shop supported.
